Artwork for The New York Times Thanksgiving Day 2020 article ‘Poems of Gratitude’, a piece about thankfulness in a year like no other.
The Times asked every poet laureate in the US share writing about 2020 and asked me and 5 other artists to be inspired by their words. Unurprisingly, Illinois’ Angela Jackson’s work hit me the hardest. All source imagery and photography was taken in and around my neighborhood in Chicago during COVID-19 lockdowns.
